When You Cannot Connect (Initialization Procedure)

You can reset the communication settings of this product to their default settings.

If you fail to configure the communication settings, follow the steps below to initialize the communication settings.
Before disposing of the product, initialize the communication settings according to the following procedures in order to protect information.

Caution

  • Do not turn off the product when initializing. The initialization process will not finish correctly.

All of the following settings will be reset to their default values by initialization.

・Bluetooth LE

Bluetooth LE function (Enable/Disable) setting
Bluetooth device name, passkey, New Pairing Permission setting

・Wireless LAN

Wireless LAN function (Enable/Disable)setting
SSID, Security type, Security key
DHCP (Enable/Disable) setting

・Wired LAN (Ethernet)

IP address, Subnet mask, Default gateway
DHCP (Enable/Disable) setting

1. Turn power on

  • If a LAN cable is connected, disconnect the LAN cable.
  • Connect a USB cable to the product USB-C port.
    Connect the other end of the cable to the power source (PC, USB power adapter).

2. Initialize communication settings

  • Insert a pen with a small tip or similar item and press the RESET button for 5 seconds.
  • Release it when the LED lights red.

  • When initialization is completed, the LED lights blue.
  • When you use this product via wired LAN or USB connection, your work has finished.

Memo

・If you are using Bluetooth LE or wireless LAN, follow Step 3 and after to delete the product settings on the host device side. After that, reconnect with the host device.

・If you are using wireless LAN, to communicate via a connected access point after initializing the wireless LAN settings, you need to reconfigure the wireless LAN settings.

3. Delete "connection settings" on the host device side (When using Bluetooth LE or wireless LAN)

When the communication settings of the product are initialized, the connection settings for the product on the host device side also become unavailable.
Delete the setting that was configured to connect to the target product on the host device side, and make a connection again.

The deletion method varies depending on the OS of the device you are using.

  • Open the setting screen of the tablet (such as iPad), and select Bluetooth.
  • Tap of the device name (MCD10-XXXXX) desired to be deleted.
    If the device name was changed, then select of the device name that it was changed to.
  • Tap "Forget This Device" to delete the setting for connection with the product.
Android
  • Open the setting screen of the tablet and select Bluetooth.
  • Tap the setting button of the desired device name (MCD10-XXXXX) from the device list.
    If the device name was changed, then select the device name that it was changed to.
  • Tap "Forget" to delete the setting for connection with the product
Windows
  • Open [Settings], and select [Bluetooth & Devices] - [Devices].
  • Select the device name (MCD10-XXXXX) to be removed from the miscellaneous device list, and tap or click [Remove Device].
    If the device name was changed, then select the device name that it was changed to.
  • Tap or click "Yes" to delete the setting for connection with the product.

4. Restart the host device

  • Restart the host device (PC, iPad, Android tablet, etc.) that was connected to the product.
