Wireless LAN Troubleshooting

The dedicated app can be used to identify troubles occurring during operation and support the subsequent actions.

Before Use: Check the Following

  • Dedicated app is required for Wireless LAN Troubleshooting.
    For iOS and Android, install Star Quick Setup Utility.
    For Windows, download Star Windows Software and install it to your host device.
    Refer to Use App.
  • Use the following function on the device side for connections using the dedicated app. Turn on the following settings.
    ・Bluetooth settings
    ・Positional information service settings      
  • Check the information of the product to be used when connecting it.
    The information can be checked on the Product Information Label temporarily attached to the bottom of the product or on the ID label.
    Passkey:The last six digits of the product serial number.
    Product serial number is the 16-digit number inside the green box.
    Example:Product serial number:0229026189123456
    Passkey:123456

Identify the Problem and Check the Solution

The following steps must be performed after the power of the product has been turned on.Turn ON/Off Power

The check method varies depending on the OS of the device you are using.

Check from an iOS device, Android device

Check from a Windows device

Check from an iOS device, Android device
  • Start Star Quick Setup Utility. Tap [Device Operation Check]-[Wireless LAN Troubleshooting].

  • Select [MCD10UEWB] from model selection.

  • Bring the device close to the product.

  • When using multiple pieces of this product
    Install the products apart from each other, and bring the device close to this product with which the device will communicate and configure settings.     
  • Bluetooth pairing request screen is displayed.
    For iOS device, enter the passkey and tap [Pair].
    For Android device, "Usually 0000 or 1234" is displayed on the dialog box, but enter your passkey and tap [OK].

  • As shown in the example below, the identified problem and the recommended next steps are displayed. Follow the instructions for your situation.

Check from a Windows device
  • Bring the device close to the product.
    When using multiple pieces of this product
    Install the products apart from each other, and bring the device close to this product with which the device will communicate and configure settings.
  • Start [All apps]-[Star Windows Software]-[Wireless LAN Utility] from the Windows Start menu.

  • Click [mC-Connect Drawer (MCD10UEWB)]-[Wireless LAN Troubleshoot].
  • Enter passkey.
    The passkey is the last six digits of the product serial number. Click [Check] after enter the passkey.
  • As shown in the example below, the identified problem and the recommended next steps are displayed. Follow the instructions for your situation.
