Launch of the mC-Label™2 Label Printer!

Star Micronics Co., Ltd. announces the release of the mC-Label™2, a specialized label printer designed for printing on compact label paper sizes of 2-inch (58mm) width or less. This new addition marks the second offering in the mC-Label™ series.

Introduced in 2023, the mC-Label™3, compatible with 3-inch (80mm) width label paper, has been mainly utilized in situations such as takeout and food delivery at restaurants. This printer has significantly contributed to reducing operational errors and improving store operation efficiency through label printing linked with store systems.

The new mC-Label™2 addresses the customer needs for installation in smaller spaces and reduced running costs for label paper. It features a space-saving design and is the industry’s first ^(*1) to offer a front paper exit and front-opening paper replacement mechanism. Furthermore, with an enhanced print resolution of 300dpi ^(*2), it allows for printing a greater amount of information even on small labels, contributing to reduced running costs. These features make the mC-Label™2 ideal for a wide range of applications, including price tags and product labels in retail stores, in addition to conventional use cases in restaurants.

Star Micronics will distribute the mC-Label™2 in North and South America, Europe, and Asia, including Japan. By strengthening its label printer lineup, the company aims to further expand its market share in the growing label printer market, addressing the increasing demand and diversifying usage scenarios for label printing solutions.

Installation in Limited Spaces

• Adopts a space-saving design and the industry’s first front paper exit and front-opening paper replacement structure.

• Supports label rolls with a diameter of 102mm despite its compact size and reduces the frequency of paper replacement.

• Enhanced print resolution of 300dpi allows for printing a large amount of information even on small label paper. In addition, it is equipped with a paper-saving function that reduces margins.

Paper Types

• Supports a variety of paper types, including strong adhesive linerless labels, linerless sticky labels, die-cut labels ^(*4), full-surface labels, and receipt paper.
• Adopts an adjustable paper holder mechanism ^(*5) for setting paper rolls of various widths without requiring additional parts like paper guides.
• A dedicated model for die-cut labels is also newly available.

Connectivity

• Supports multiple interfaces, including USB, Ethernet, Bluetooth^{® (*6)}, and Wireless LAN ^(*7), enabling use in diverse environments.

Easy Maintenance Design for Long-Term Use

• Designed for easy replacement of consumable parts without tools.
• Provides easy-to-understand video manuals for replacement procedures and cleaning methods.
• Users can receive email notifications about the appropriate time for parts replacement based on printer usage frequency through the “Device Monitor” within the “Star Micronics Cloud Service.”
