Launch of microphone module “MUA-01 series”

Star Micronics has launched a microphone module titled "MUA-01 series" for applications of collecting in-vehicle sound through navigation systems & drive recorder equipment.

MUA-01 series” uses uni-directional microphone in the unit. Directivity of uni-directional microphone is easily influenced or degraded how it is mounted or placed. Star Micronics designed a module to maximize our microphone capability, so that “MUA-01 series” enables to generate ideal directivity.
 A directional microphone using in “MUA-01 series” called “EBB-06 series”^(*1). It is developed in Star Micronics, and it has higher sensitivity than present directional microphone called “EBA-06 series”^(*1). “EBA-06 series” has been sold over 25 million pcs since 2004 by its high reliability in the automotives.
 Also, built-in design of low pass filter & anti-static drive circuitry gives “MUA-01A series” remarkable resistance of RF noise ^(*2) & anti-static.

Targeted applications of “MUA-01 series” are mainly hands-free & voice recognition. By aiming at automotives & security industry, Star Micronics projects its sales in 2011 as 100,000pcs.

• Great durability against thermal shock (-40 to 95 degree C as storage temperature & -30C to +80C as operating temperature).
• Anti-static resistance (IEC61000-4-2, hardness level 4 compatible.)
