Promoting Sustainable Production and Procurement
For the Company, which operates not only in Japan but also globally, the realization of stable and sustainable production, procurement, supply, and services, which we aim to achieve together with our business partners, is becoming increasingly important from the perspective of business continuity.
Basic approach
Our Star Micronics Group is committed to sustainable sourcing with a focus on respect for human rights and reduction of environmental impact. This aims to fulfill our social responsibilities as a company while reducing risks across the supply chain and achieving stable production and procurement.
For a global supply chain, considerations of sustainability are closely linked to enhancing corporate value, and collaboration with suppliers across the supply chain is essential to realizing this.
We emphasize building trust through dialogue with suppliers and seek a mutually beneficial relationship by providing feedback on procurement processes and quality management.
Guided by the Star Micronics Group Human Rights Respect Policy, our group will promote sustainable procurement based on the following five axes:
- Respect for Human Rights
- We respect the human rights of all stakeholders, prevent human rights violations, and conduct responsible procurement activities.
- Environment Preservation
- We will reduce our environmental impact and promote sustainable resource use.
- Ethical Conduct
- We will conduct fair and transparent procurement activities and comply with laws and regulations.
- Responsibility for the Entire Supply Chain
- We will promote respect for human rights and environmental preservation throughout the supply chain and strengthen cooperation with partner companies.
- Sustainable Procurement
- We will promote procurement activities that take into consideration the impact on society and the environment from a long-term perspective.
