What StarIO.Online is

StarIO.Online is a control service for Star CloudPRNT-supporting devices*, which is provided on the cloud platform operated by Star Micronics.

In the cloud-based applications, users can utilize printing control and/or device control functions through Web API easily and efficiently.

*Refer to this for supporting devices.

Service Concept

  • The main use case is device control through the cloud server provided by Star Micronics, such as remote printing to a printer.
  • Establishing and/or operating a new server for controlling devices made by Star Micronics is not necessary.
  • Various functions which can be used without integration are available such as printing via e-mail and a dashboard for device management.

Features

  • Easy coordination with API
Using Web API provided by Star Micronics allows a printer and host application to be coordinated with the technology without developing a new application.
  • Easy setup
As the Star CloudPRNT technology is applied, a connection is completed only by registering a server URL for StarIO.Online. In addition, as printing data in the form of Star Document Markup are supported, printing data can be easily generated.
  • Efficient operation and high extensibility
As a server provided by Star Micronics is used, users can reduce time and cost for establishing and operating new servers; also users can add devices as required according to business growth without paying attention to server upgrading.
  • Coordination with Webhook function
Webhook-based notifications, such as device status changes, print execution results, and new device connection to a group, are supported.
  • Printing via E-mail
Printing can be performed simply by entering the content to be printed in the body of an e-mail and sending it. (Service activation is required.)
Both HTML and plain text formats are supported. For plain text format, Star Document Markup can be used.
